Superfood Smoothie Bowl for hormonal balance

I’ve named this a superfood smoothie simply because it contains so many ingredients that are all really good for you. The banana is an excellent source of carbohydrates, fiber and is a good source of potassium. Blueberries are also packed with fiber and of course, antioxidants. Plus they give this beautiful vibrant color. You’ll get a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals such as iron and vitamin K and A from spinach. Chia seeds provide a decent amount of omega 3, and almond butter is packed with healthy fats to keep your brain happy, to balance your hormones and keep your blood sugar levels stable, while cacao is an excellent source of magnesium and zinc (especially important for women). If you choose to add in some spirulina this algae is especially known to contain lots of B vitamins. Have this smoothie for breakfast, lunch or dessert  and your body will be happy and powered up.


1 banana

1 cup frozen blueberries

a few handfuls baby spinach

1 cup almond milk (preferably activated)

1 tbsp almond butter

1-2 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp raw cacao

1/2 tsp spirulina (optional)

Make it more filling: add a handful of oats

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Top with more almond butter, berries, nuts or whatever else you have on hand.
