Magic Cacao Recipe with medicinal mushrooms

Hi beautiful Dharma-tribe, hope you are all well and smiling. I’m currently writing to you from Byron Bay, which has been my home for almost two weeks now. Being back here in the Bay feels rather surreal, but it’s been such an adventure; bringing back so many memories and feelings. It’s almost unbelievable to me that it’s just over a year since I left this place, as it feels like I’ve been gone for much longer. The place has definitely changed over the past thirteen months, and town feels busier and more energetic than usual. That being said, when I walk along the beautiful beaches here, or do my usual run up to Byron Lighthouse, it’s like I never really left. I feel at such ease in these surroundings, and the sensation of Byron being my home is stronger than ever.
Last week I went to pick up a few goodies from a local brand that sells beautiful medicinal mushrooms, herbal blends and superfood powders. I’ve been a big fan of Super Feast ever since I first moved to Byron, and I feel honored to have teamed up with them for some exciting collaborations. First up is my new favorite hot chocolate recipe, flavored with cardamom, chili and vanilla. I’ve been using Super Feasts Masons Mushroom blend in my morning coffee every morning since I picked up the products, and I can tell my body enjoys the benefits of these beautiful plants. I’ve also had this hot chocolate at least every other day to wind down in the evening, as it’s super comforting and delicious. In addition to the mushroom blend, this recipe also features the tremella powder and the Jing mixture. Both have become new favorites of mine, and I’m especially enjoying the Tremella due to it’s delicious sweet, and almost vanilla-y flavor.
Hot chocolate with cardamom, chili, vanilla and medicinal mushrooms
1.5 cup plant-based milk (I’ve been loving macadamia milk lately)
1.5-2 tbsp raw cacao powder
1/8 tsp cardamom spice
1/8 tsp vanilla powder
pinch of chili powder
a large pinch of sea salt
1-2 tsp raw honey
1/2 tsp Masons Mushrooms
1/2 tsp Jing
1/2 tsp Tremella
Mix all ingredients except honey in a pot. Heat gently on the stove while stirring (avoid boiling). Pour in a large mug and add in a spoonful or two of honey (or any other sweetener of your choice). Stir, sip and enjoy. ❤️
